Si l'on utilise son VTT sur l'asphalte aussi bien que dans les ornières, on peut choisir un pneu mixte comportant à la fois des paves et une bande de roulement centrale. Celle-ci, si le pneu est bien gonflé (4-5 bars), réduit bien les frottements de la roue.
